Today marks the end of our four days training sessions with Mr. Peik
Johansson. I have improved a lot in my internet use for fact-finding, news
monitoring, communication and publication. This knowledge will be useful in my
carrier especially when searching for literature and assisting my students in
searching for materials for their assignments. I do hope that MISA and VIKES
will organize another training of same kind in the near future. Thank you Mr.
Peik and others who played part in one way or another to make this training successful.

The Nile Perch decline: Who is to blame?
Nile Perch is one of the fish species found in Lake Victoria which
is one of the great lakes in Africa. The lake cut across three East African Countries (Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda). Other popular fish species found in Lake Victoria include
small sardines and Nile Tilapia. The three fish species serve as the main
source of income for fishermen surrounding the Lake Victoria and therefore
contribute to the growth of the economy of their countries like Tanzania.

Training: Day Two...
As I promised to share with you what is happening with the training that
am attending, here is a short description of what we did yesterday as part of
internet training for journalists.
The second day of our training went well too. The session was more practical as compared to the first session. We had enough time to practice on the use of blogs and how to manage some of the features on blogs. We also had a discussion on the search tips for journalistic search sites, knowing what to look for where and how to find it. We were able to see how journalists can research and get information through the internet. Mr. Peik Johansson our trainer gave a few tasks to practically find addresses and locations online such as searching for the Finnish embassy location in Tanzania which was very useful as part of learning. I can confidently say am now a blogger knowing the abc's of blogging. Am still hoping to learn more for the remaining time of our training. Until my next post, see you soon!
